Dental Metals and Disease

Many dental alloys are metallic, magnetic, and/or electroconducting materials. What might be the impact of their contact with human nerves, which also conduct electricity? Consider the following expert quotations:
  • "Corrosion can produce ionized elements that interact with biological tissues. Therefore, corrosion increases the risk of toxicity. Other factors found to affect corrosion are pH and the presence of proteins." - . JADA. Biocompatibility of dental alloys. June 2002. Vol. 133.

  • "It is estimated that 70% of all medical illnesses are directly or indirectly caused by human intervention in the dental structures (teeth and jawbones). - Dr. Gerald Smith, D.D.S. Dental/Cancer Connection. ICNR Case Study #21.

  • "In a startling recent breakthrough, researchers at the Rocky Mountain Research Institute, led by Robert L. Siblerud, made the most profound discovery that amalgam mercury effects the neurotransmitter uptake.....and provides a biochemical basis for why people who have amalgam [silver] dental fillings experience significantly higher levels of depression, excessive anger, and anxiety than controls without amalgams." - Robert L. Siblerud et al. Mercury, the root of depression, anger, and violence.

  • "A cancer-causing chemical is being given to tens of thousands of patients fitted with cheap dental crowns. ...Dentists are increasingly using mixtures of cheaper metals including nickel, which is believed to cause cancer. It can also cause life-long allergies leading to inflammation of the gums and sometimes the rest of the body." Dental work danger alert. August 2001.
Could the metals in your dental work be slowly corroding and making you ill? If so, you've probably been swallowing them for years. If dental materials can disturb pituitary (brain) function, could they also instigate disease in major body organs? See this site's bibliography for further resources on this subject.
